I don’t want anyone to know that I’m coming here.
Our program is confidential. You will receive a Notice of Privacy Practices at your intake which further explains this.
Confidentiality means that staff members will not and may not disclose to any other person that you are receiving treatment services. We are unable to confirm or deny that anyone has seen us, even if a spouse or someone else in the client’s life calls and asks how the client is doing.
Our confidentiality is governed and regulated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the code of ethics of the American Counseling Association. Our agency is further regulated and monitored by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. We are also self-guided by an ancillary attachment to the seal of confession, using the original concept of confidentiality developed by the Catholic Church millennia ago. If federal regulations on confidentiality ceased to exist, our confidentiality practices would not change at all.
